Ruth Zoodsma

Ruth has been a teacher at Sunbeams since 2011. Her quiet and gentle approach works with all children, especially as they respond to her ever-present smile. Ruth teaches with enthusiasm, loves to sing and tell Bible stories, and shines the light of Jesus in all she does. Ruth is a leader in Children's Ministry at her home church. She lives in Poughkeepsie with her husband, Randy. They have 3 grown children.
Karen Hanchett
Teacher
Karen is our most experienced Sunbeams teacher. She has crafted a fun and engaging curriculum with projects, activities and field trips that delight both children and parents. Karen's love and care for children are on display every day as she prepares and teaches with an eye toward helping each child grow. Karen is involved in various ministries at Immanuel church. She also lives in Poughkeepsie. She and her husband, Bill, have also raised 3 grown children.
Pastor Bill
Welcomer, Board President
Pastor Bill loves to meet and greet the Sunbeams parents and children. He was ordained in 2012 as a Pastor at Immanuel Church after many years of service as an Elder and ministry leader. In his role as Pastor of Discipleship, he loves to help people grow in their relationship with God, get connected with the church, and see the greatness of God's love and grace. In January, 2013 Pastor Bill became the sole pastor at Immanuel. Bill has lived in the Hudson Valley for over 30 years, working for IBM for much of that time. He is married to Karen and they have three boys, three daughters-in-law and ten grandchildren.
